Message from the organizer
As the Chairman of Polish Ice Hockey Federation I would like to invite all fans to 2015 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship Division I Group A, which takes place in Krakow. I am thankful to the city of Kraków and the province marshal's office for the co-operation with the PZHL to organize a prestige event like the 2015 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship Division I Group A. First of all I want to thank all hockey fans who decided to be with us between 19th and 25th April and cheer on all hockey teams, especially Poland, in the struggle for victory. In my opinion it is a unique opportunity to be part of this international event, all the more with the new organizational quality in ice hockey from the PZHL, the Krakow Management of Sport Infrastructure and TAURON Arena Kraków but most of all I thank President Jacek Majchrowski and the IIHF for their professional organizational help.
I can assure that the Polish Ice Hockey Federation made all efforts to give fans not only sport emotions on the highest level but also an opportunity to spend time in an international and nice atmosphere. This is the reason for Poland to be proud as a host of remarkable hockey championships, the second-most important after the World Championship has taken place in Katowicki Spodek in 1976. We hope that the Polish hospitality experienced by Italy, Kazakhstan, Japan, Ukraine and Hungary will be a great opportunity to discover Polish history and admire one of the most beautiful cities in this part of Europe.Continue reading
I wish all fans unforgettable experiences during the World Championship. I wish all national teams a good start and that the city of Kraków and the TAURON Arena Kraków will from now on have a special place in Polish and international ice hockey.
The Chairman of Polish Ice Hockey Federation
I am glad that Kraków is the host of the 2015 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship Division I A, which I hope will be a success of the Polish national team as a promotion to the hockey elite in this popular discipline.
We saw the popularity of ice hockey in Kraków during the Polish Cup Final Tournament in the end of December 2014 when Kraków Arena was full of sport fans.
The importance of the championship is higher. Poland will battle with Japan, Kazakhstan, Hungary, Italy and Ukraine and only the first two teams will be promoted. I am convinced that they will achieve the goal with the support of the fans.
These people proved many times how warm and cultural they cheer players. We remember great volleyball, tennis and basketball events.
I wish similar emotions and unforgettable experiences during the 2015 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship Division I Group A for all fans.
President of the city of Kraków
